Toronto, ON - April 30th, 2013 - On your mark, get set...Go! Don't miss the annual GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon. On Sunday May 5th, over 12,000 participants from 50+ countries will hit the streets of Toronto as they conquer the concrete in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and a host of other charities. Join us along the route and support our participants running for a great cause.

The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon is the oldest marathon in Toronto, generating over $15 million to the local economy each year.  Over 12,000 participants from 50+ countries are expected to participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and Relay.  

Since 1995, the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon has generated over $12 million for its various charitable partners including the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Hemophilia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Diabetes and many more.

Course Information:

The marathon begins at Mel Lastman Square and is a fast, downhill course, where you will enjoy some of the most unique and scenic landscapes Toronto has to offer. This is one of the fastest courses you will find anywhere, and is a great qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Relay all begin on Beecroft Rd, behind Mel Lastman Square and finish at Ontario Place.

 

Marathon begins at 7:30AM

Relay begins at 7:50AM

Half-Marathon begins at 8:30AM

 

The 5k begins and ends at Ontario Place.

5K begins at 12:00PM

Psyching Team:

We provide a unique service with our "Psyching Team." They are there before, during and after the race to support the runners and talk them through any anxieties. More information about our Psyching Team can be found online: Here.

 

Expo:

The excitement of the Annual GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon begins at our Expo.  Runners pick up their race kits and shop for the latest in running apparel and more, while gathering information on the most exciting marathon destinations.  This two day expo is open to the public for free, and it promises to have something for everyone.  For more information on the expo click Here.

When:  Friday May 3rd, 10AM-7PM and Saturday May 4th, 9AM - 5PM

Road Closures:

We will be working closely with city officials to minimize disruptions and reopen roads as quickly as possible.  For a detailed list of road closures see below:

Hwy. 401 - Ramps at Yonge St. S/B will be open by 10:00 am.

Bloor St. - Open for uninterrupted East/West traffic.

 

Police will be at major intersections to ensure public safety. Expect some delays.

Statement regarding the Boston Marathon:

The team at Running First Ltd., and everyone involved in the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon express their deepest sympathies for everyone involved in Boston Marathon on April 15th. In the wake of the tragic events, we will be working diligently with city officials, Police, and EMS to ensure the safety and security of all our participants and supporters.
